Meet Sean
I’m Sean! The owner and clinical director of Sean Physio & Performance. My mission is to help athletes regain control and not let pain hinder their performance through a blend of biomechanics and performance training.
I've worked with a wide range of clients from national-level powerlifters and Canadian international athletes, to theatre performers, footballers, martial artists, and everyday lifters. No matter the background, the goal is always the same: to move better, train harder, and stay pain-free for the long run.
I have loved strength training since my mid teens. However, throughout my training career, I have repeatedly developed injuries throughout my whole body.
I went to doctors, physiotherapists and even Youtube, but nobody gave me a proper explanation on what was going on with my body. Although this didn’t stop my training, it definitely left me frustrated as no one had the answer for me.
Fast forward a few years, I finally squatted 210kg, but my hip gave way. It was around this time where I had finished my physiotherapy degree from the University of East Anglia with 1st Honors, but nothing I learned helped.
I was struggling to walk without pain, and the weights I was lifting dropped by more than 50%. The whole process took almost a whole year before I could lift the same weight again.
This marked the beginning of my movement journey where I became deeply obsessed with human movement and biomechanics. Since then, I’ve been working in private practice, continually expanding my knowledge to deliver the highest standard of rehabilitation possible.
Along the way, I’ve learned from industry experts such as Austin Einhorn, David Grey, and Lok See Ng, whose approaches have deeply influenced my clinical reasoning and movement-based practice.
about sean Physio & Performance
At Sean Physio & Performance, we believe in 3 Principles:
S: Self - awareness
We believe that improvement starts with awareness. The key is to recognize what’s holding you back before we can take the next step. Whether it’s a movement pattern, a hidden compensation or a a mindset to training, our goal is to help you become more in tune with your body. After all, how can we make a change if we don’t know what need sto change?
P: Personalized service
We believe that every athlete that works with us requires and deserves a high quality personalized strategy based on their unique situation. No two people are the same, and everyone will go on a different journey based on their specific goals, background and biopsychosocial factors.
Our mission is to equip you with the tools and knowledge to take control of your body and training, so that even if your issue returns, you’ll know exactly how to handle it. We don’t just treat you, we teach you.
P: Performance and rehab should be the same
We believe that if you want to lift heavy, and perform at a high level, your training needs to reflect that. It only makes sense that if you want to squat 200 kilos, you need to train at a high intensity. Although your rehab may start with the basics, every athlete that works with us will be pushed as they progress. If we do not challenge you at a high level, you will never perform safely at a high level.
